Dr. Betsy Cogan is an assistant professor in the Department of Nutrition, Dietetics, and Exercise Science. Dr. Cogan is a registered dietitian nutritionist and holds the following certifications: ServSafe Food Protection Manager, Instructor, and Examination Proctor and ManageFirst Program Instructor through the National Restaurant Association.
Dr. Cogan graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics from Saint Catherine University. She then completed a combined dietetic internship and her doctoral work in Nutritional Sciences at the University of Georgia prior to joining faculty at 南瓜影院. Dr. Cogan has also worked as a scientific writer and has six first author publications, two of which included undergraduate researcher collaboration. Dr. Cogan's research focuses on simple dietary changes that impact cardiovascular, vascular, and cognitive health. She also teaches a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses at 南瓜影院 including Nutrition, Food Science, Quantity Foods, First Year Seminar, Engaging in Lifelong Wellness, and Nutrition Education & Counseling.
Dr. Cogan lives in Moorhead with her husband. She enjoys hiking, distance running, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
