ÄϹÏÓ°Ôº

What is Vocation?

What would today look like if you dared to show up as your actual self?
Listened deeply to the world around you?
And then connected like it really mattered?
It would look like vocation.

ÄϹÏÓ°Ôº is committed to accompanying students during their vocational journey through their undergraduate experience and beyond:  ÄϹÏÓ°Ôº's commitment is to the student's whole self, for their whole life and to our whole world.

ÄϹÏÓ°Ôº Values

  • As a residential, liberal arts college of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), ÄϹÏÓ°Ôº recognizes and affirms that intellect and faith are active partners in the pursuit of truth.

  • To partner with College administration, faculty, and staff in matters of theological resourcing and public events.
  • To nurture congregational scholarship gifts within the ÄϹÏÓ°Ôº Corporation Territory for purpose of student financial assistance.
  • To convene and strategically connect work of the College’s Dovre Center for Faith and Learning, Forum on Faith and Life, Department of Religion’s Faith and Leadership Concentration, Offutt School of Business Lorentzsen Center for Faith and Work, Office of Ministry, and Office of Vocation and Church Leadership.

Faith and Leadership

Courses in the faith and leadership concentration prepare you for leadership in faith communities, service organizations, nonprofits, outdoor ministry settings, graduate study in practical theology and more.

The religion major with a faith and leadership concentration is designed to easily pair with other majors or minors, allowing you to anticipate diverse future work settings. A significant number of ÄϹÏÓ°Ôº graduates seek employment—or volunteer positions—connecting their faith convictions to social needs.

Faith and leadership courses are open to all students regardless of their major. The concentration includes the practicum in faith and leadership, an internship for you to develop practical knowledge, skills and self-understanding in a faith and leadership setting.
